Supports tab

Used for the specification of supports of piers or spans.

Supports can be added or deleted by invoking a popup menu with the right mouse button and selecting the appropriate item or by clicking on the respective icons at the bottom of the window. By default there will be automatically created a support at the bottom of each pier (connection point CP_M). Further supports (abutments) can be added to spans (connection points CP0, CP1 and CP2).

first column Double-clicking the first column opens the Selection dialog, which is used to the type of the support:
  • pier (Spring-0 at the bottom of the pier). The designation for the pier supports is Pier[number]
  • span (Spring-0 at the begin or end of a span). The designation for the supports in spans Span[number]
  • abutment (Spring-0 and two abutment springs at the begin or end of a span). The designation for the abutments Abut-Span[number]
Position Position, where the support shall be situated. For piers it is always switched to BOTTOM, for spans it can be set to BEGIN or END.
Element Number of the ground spring element for pier, span, or abutment. The numbering of the three springs of an abutment is based on the input of the ground spring (e.g., an input of 3000 will create abutment springs 3000 (0-Spring) and 3001, 3002).
CX / CY / CZ / CMX / CMY / CMZ / DAlpha1 / DAlpha2 / DBeta Input of the spring constants of the supports. (For further help to this topic refer to RM Bridge User Guides).
